If you’ve walked by a store window or turned on the radio during the past few days, you have probably noticed that the holiday season has arrived! For the past nine years, Mayor Menino’s Office has created the Mayor’s Holiday Special, a website to help Boston residents navigate the city’s many family-friendly holiday activities.
Healthy Family Fun has selected a few of our favorite events from the variety of festivals, shows, and musical performances that you’ll want to make sure are on your calendar. So put on your winter coat and hat, and check out these holiday events in Boston:
- The Egleston Square Holiday Event. Show your flexibility by helping to decorate the Egleston Square tree with ornaments on December 1 from 1-2 PM. Then warm up your vocal chords with caroling and stick around for a visit from Santa! Learn more here.
- Half-priced show tickets. If you’ve always wanted to see The Nutcracker, now may be the time! Check out the variety of discounted tickets available for a night that is sure to be memorable for both you and your child.
- Beacon Hill Holiday Stroll. Bring your family out on December 6 to enjoy carolers, a brass quintet and horse and buggy rides as you stroll through the Beacon Hill neighborhood. Tree lighting takes place at 7 PM.
- Boston’s Downtown Holiday Market. The Market is a great place to go for an evening walk with your family while enjoying the sights and sounds of the season. The Market is open Mondays-Saturdays from 11 AM – 7 PM and Sundays from 11 AM – 5 PM.
