Coronavirus Safety Tips

We know there’s a lot of uncertainty going around. Plans are being canceled, holidays and birthdays celebrated virtually, and everyone is worried about getting sick. Things may feel out of control.

However, there are some basic steps you can do to reduce you and your family’s risk of illness:

  1. Wash your hands often: Frequently washing your hands helps to kill germs. If you can’t wash your hands with soap and water, consider rubbing with hand sanitizer.
  2. Avoid directly touching your face: Try not to touch your eyes, nose, and mouth. Your hands carry a lot of germs – touching your face helps to easily transmit these germs. Consider wearing a mask when you go outside (in Boston, it is mandatory).
  3. Keep your physical distance: If you go out for a walk or groceries, remember to keep at least 6 feet apart from others. This helps protect you (and others!) from spreading germs.
  4. Get medical care early: If you feel sick, stay at home. If you have a cough, fever, or shortness of breath, call your medical provider for help and instructions!
