Did you know that water makes up 60 percent of our body weight? In fact, every system in our body depends on water, which is why water is so important! Not only does water help us stay healthy, but it also helps us feel good.
In the summertime, we tend to be more active and sweat more, so it’s especially important to stay hydrated. Here are a few tips for getting plenty of water in the hot summer months and year-round!
- Be sure to drink water with each meal and in between meals. Keep a pitcher of water in the fridge at all times.
- Drink water before, during, and after physical activities. Carry a reusable water bottle with you when you’re at the gym or just running errands.
- You can also increase your intake of water through some of the fruits and vegetables you eat. Cucumbers, tomatoes, and watermelon are just a few foods that are high in water content.
