Getting Back on Track After the Holidays

The holiday season is finally over and it’s back to the familiar school and work routines. After all the delicious desserts and heavy holiday foods, it might seem scary to restart your healthy lifestyle.  But not to worry! Remember to take it one day at a time.  Here are a few simple tips to help you get started:

  1. Don’t skip meals: It might feel tempting to skip meals to burn off any extra calories. Try to avoid this! Your body still needs fuel to keep on working.
  2. Plan your meals: Plan ahead to avoid last minute pizza orders or unnecessary snacking. Try meal prepping for the week’s lunches on the weekend; get the whole family to pitch in!
  3. Drink more water: Not only does this keep you hydrated, but drinking water will also make you feel fuller throughout the day.
  4. Add some exercise: Try to dedicate at least 30 minutes a day in being active. If it’s warm enough, take a quick walk. Run around and play tag with the kids. Do some yoga. Choose an activity you enjoy and try to do it every day.
