Types of Processed Foods – What Should You Avoid?

It’s always better to eat fresh foods as much as possible. However, fresh fruits and vegetables may not always be available –especially in the winter time. Instead, you might cook frozen spinach – which is actually considered processed!

Frozen foods are considered processed at their peak – minimally to preserve their freshness. Other commonly used processed foods include dried nuts, spice mixes, and infused oils.

In other words, not all processed foods are the same. Some, like prepackaged pizzas, salty snacks, and ready-to-eat meals, are much worse than others, like cut vegetables, frozen fish, and canned beans.
