Weekends are just plain awesome. They are a time for no school and all family fun. But did you know that Saturdays are SUPER? Boston area organizations are pulling out all the stops to keep families moving and learning with Saturday activities like these:
- Healthy Kids, Healthy Futures’ Open Gym plays up a storm on Saturday mornings at their three BCYF sites for free playtime including the Holland Community Center, the Blackstone Community Center, and the Recreation Center at Madison Park. Find the location nearest you and join in the fun every Saturday from 10-11:30am before the season wraps up on November 22nd. But don’t worry; the spring season of Open Gym will begin on February 7, 2015.
- MIT’s Science on Saturdays series of free, K-12 workshops is designed to open your little scientist’s mind to a wonderful new world of experimentation every week. This Saturday the Society of Women Engineers is inviting your family to come join them for a hands on optics activity about playing with light starting at 10am at the Kresge Auditorium on Mass. Ave.
- Saturdays in Somerville always seem to be swinging. This Saturday is no exception! Join in the musical fun at the Grooversity Festival – a free world drumming celebration bringing the East Somerville Community School to life with movement and sound from 1pm to 6:30pm.
The fun doesn’t stop there! Be sure to search our “Fun in Your Neighborhood” database for even more Super Saturday activities.
