At the beginning of this month, 54 talented, young chefs between the ages of 8 and 12 were celebrated at the White House where First Lady Michelle Obama hosted the 2013 Kids’ State Dinner. These 54 amazing kids and their recipes were selected from across the nation out of 1,300 who competed in the Let’s Move Campaign and Epicurious’ second annual Healthy Lunchtime Challenge.
Kohl’s and Boston Children’s Hospital’s Healthy Family Fun Program remembers celebrating this creative competition last year, when the Healthy Lunchtime Challenge first invited young chefs to submit their original recipes inspired by cheap, tasty, and nutritionally balanced dishes that kids love to eat and make.
